Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — CamTran and its employees showed their support for National Human Trafficking Awareness Day on Wednesday.
All employees of the company were encouraged to wear blue, and the event was promoted across social media using the hashtag "wear blue day."
Officials say they embraced the event, signifying its efforts to ensure public transportation is as safe as possible.
“Public transportation unfortunately is a hub for human trafficking and kind of the darker side of the world sometimes, and rather than hide that, we want to shine a light on it so we can prevent that moving forward.”
Also, in an effort to prevent human trafficking, officials say all CamTran employees have received training on how to spot and report it.
