The Way of Truth Ministries, from Altoona, will be having its second Pennsylvania Bible Reading Marathon, on May 20th through the 24th, on the steps of the state capitol building.

Volunteers are needed to fill in 360 15-minute time slots so that the bible can be read continuously for 24 hours a day over the period.

Organizers say that they decided to have the event at the state capitol to show lawmakers their commitment to God’s word and hope that they will include themselves in the same commitment.

“All of the things that are taking place in our society, in our culture, God’s word has the power to change people’s lives; and make a difference in seeing some of those problems brought to a resolution. It can bring about reconciliation between people that are in conflict, so I think that God’s word is primary."

They’re hoping that local churches will step forward and donate to cover the costs of staying in Harrisburg during the marathon.

If your church is interested in that, or if you’re willing to volunteer to read the bible at the state capital, you can visit capitolbrm.org.
