A cello worth about $250,000 was stolen from a Seattle home over the weekend, and detectives are seeking information.

The stolen instrument is an "1890 Enrico Marchetti cello with a blue and black carbon fiber case," according to the Seattle Police Department (SPD).

Officers were called to a Seattle home on the 1600 block of 24th Avenue around 5 p.m. Sunday for reports of a burglary, the SPD said. The homeowners found the home had been broken into, with the front door open and a window shattered, the SPD added.

Police said the cello was last seen on Saturday, and it was stolen along with "bows and several other items."

"The musical equipment is estimated to be worth about $250,000," the SPD wrote in its blotter. "The majority of that value comes from the cello alone."

Police ask anyone with information to call the SPD's tip line at 206-233-5000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for any information leading to an arrest and charges, police said.
