Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., on Friday shared a bizarre theory as to what's surrounding the natural phenomenon occurring recently.

On Friday, a 4.8 magnitude earthquake occurred near North Plainfield, New Jersey. Tremors from the event could be felt across the Northeast region.

A solar eclipse is also expected Monday, which will shroud part of the U.S. in temporary darkness as the moon passes in front of the sun.

The co-occurrence of the earthquake and eclipse, Rep. Greene said, could indicate a higher power is displeased with Americans.

“God is sending America strong signs to tell us to repent,” the congresswoman wrote via social media. “Earthquakes and eclipses and many more things to come. I pray that our country listens.”

The post was subjected to a Community Note correction, which stated "earthquakes happen all the time" and can be followed in "realtime using USGS resources."

“Eclipses are not random, they follow strict mathematical rules and can be predicted centuries before they happen,” the note added. “NASA has a site listing eclipses until the year 3000.”

Former MSNBC host Keith Olbermann clapped back at Rep. Greene's claims.

“Moron: the EQ was ‘sent’ 10 miles from Trump's Crapshack in Jersey,” Olbermann wrote. “If you were right - which you aren't - and if you were smart - which you aren't - you'd see the warning to repent is for those who are slaves to Traitor Trump. Watch out for lightning Margie.”
