HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (TND) — A TikTok-famous toddler in North Carolina became an honorary Target team member for a day.
Twenty-month-old Azai, who rocketed to fame after his mother Mia started posting videos of him exploring Target aisles offering shoppers a heartfelt "Hi, how you doing?”, was recently promoted to Store Happiness Director at the Huntersville location. He's also referred to as the “internet’s favorite nephew.”
Team members rolled out the red carpet for Azai last Friday as he got to hand out Bullseye-themed sweet treats during an employee huddle, make an announcement over a walkie-talkie and double-check inventory in the toy department.
He even got his own name tag and red Target jersey to celebrate the temporary job promotion.
To wrap up the festive day, Target presented Azai with a gift card and also made a $10,000 donation in his name to Classroom Central, a local organization to hands out free school supplies to thousands of teachers every year.
Mia, who goes by @mia.ariannaa on TikTok, spoke with People magazine last month and says her son has always been bubbly and social.
She also told People that seeing all of the traction on her videos of Azai "really makes my day."
I can tell the videos really make theirs as well," she said. "The smile, the glow, the surprise on people’s faces is heartwarming because I know that my baby is spreading love and you never know who needs it."ncG1vNJzZmivmpawtcKNnKamZ56axLR7zp%2Bdm52RqXy1tcqtpqRllpa6sMHSZquonJShsrN5wZ6aqKWVqHqpu82oqZqqqWLBor7GnqtmrJWWum65xKaZnqpdm7yzecBmm5qxXZ67brrOq6uhZZOWv7C4yKeYZpmqlrZuuciaZKGtnqmys7%2FVoqOlnV2rtrOty2atopyVpMBuv86coJqkXaKypbXAZqCnrJWnu6bA0madmq6fp7a1sYynnKmglax6tMDOq5xmoJGlvaq6xKyqZpyZp7KkwM6r
