SCI Rockview inmate found dead in prison cell days after arriving at facility

ROCKVIEW, Pa. (WJAC) — Officials at the State Correctional Institute at Rockview said an inmate was found dead in his cell Sunday afternoon. According to a news release, 40-year-old David Fry was found unresponsive by prison staff just before 4:45 p.m. Officials said staff members immediately performed CPR until an ambulance arrived. They were unable to revive him. According to the release, Fry was convicted of second-degree murder in Erie County in 1998 and was sentenced to life in prison.

Emporium man charged after trying to steal truck, helicopter at barracks

Cameron Co., PA (WJAC) — State police say an Emporium man is facing multiple felonies after authorities say he attempted to steal a vehicle and then a helicopter from the Emporium barracks. Troopers say on Thursday morning, authorities were dispatched to the barracks for a report that a man, identified as 39-year-old Michael Roberto, was attempting to steal a pickup truck from the parking. Investigators say Roberto had left the barracks prior to troopers arriving on scene.

One injured after tire crashes into car on Interstate 80

CLEARFIELD CO, Pa (WJAC) — One person was injured Tuesday when a truck lost a tire that crashed through the windshield of a car on Interstate 80, fire officials said. According to the Lawrence Township Volunteer Fire Company, crews were called to the crash, which happened near mile marker 116. Authorities ID body of boy, 12, found dead inside Philadelphia dumpster

PHILADELPHIA (WCAU) — A shocking discovery was made in Philadelphia after police found the body of a 12-year-old boy placed in a trash can. Philadelphia police say a sanitation worker picked up a trash container from a street last Tuesday and took it to a nearby storage facility where it was housed overnight. But only when he made another trip a day later, the body was discovered. Authorities said an autopsy showed the boy was shot in the head.
