School officials warn parents of possible predator contacting students on Snapchat
DUBOIS, Pa. (WJAC) — Local school officials are warning parents of a possible online predator who’s been contacting students.
Officials with DuBois Area School District sent out a notice to parents this week regarding a Snapchat account called “Chrisrunstheroc,” that’s been contacting students in the DuBois Area School District and other local school districts requesting inappropriate information that’s sexual in nature.
“Some reports involve this individual posing as an incoming male student saying that he is transferring from Florida and will be enrolling as a new student promptly,” the notice to parents read.

WASHINGTON (TND) — Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito sold between $1,000 and $15,000 worth of stock in Bud Light parent company Anheuser-Busch last August, according to financial disclosure documents released by the federal judiciary.
The transaction on August 16 coincided with a purchase of Molson Coors within the same price range. That company owns big brews such as Blue Moon, Coors Light and Hamm’s.
Justice Alito appears to have lost out on the trade, however, as Anheuser-Busch stock traded at $55.
Coalport residents continue cleanup after flash flooding
COALPORT -- The cleanup continues after flooding swept through parts of western Pennsylvania this week. One of the areas hit hardest was Coalport in Clearfield County.
Neighbors said it came fast but it caused a lot of damage to basements, businesses and street corners.
Water still flows through the town of Coalport and onto Main Street as cars splash through puddles.
The fire department is doing their part to drain some areas and clean debris off the sidewalks.
2 dead, 9 injured in 35-vehicle pile-up on California highway
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Two people are dead and nine are injured after a 35-vehicle pile-up Saturday on a California highway.
According to officials on scene, vehicles and 18 big-rigs were involved in a crash on I-5 South.
Our GPS notified us that there was an accident and so we stopped, and two minutes after we stopped, the car behind us hit us, and that's when everything just happened fast," said Yesenia Cruz, a driver involved in the crash.
Additional flight to Pittsburgh coming to DuBois Regional Airport
REYNOLDSVILLE - An additional flight to Pittsburgh International Airport from Jefferson County will soon be available for passengers.
Southern Airways announced it'll be adding a midday flight to Pittsburgh from DuBois Regional Airport (DUJ) starting Thursday.
Airport Manager Bob Shaffer said there will now be flights to Pittsburgh every two hours on weekdays.
Shaffer said the change was made due to feedback from flyers and hopes it will help increase ridership.
Huntingdon County Fair underway
HUNTINGDON, Pa. (WJAC) — In Huntingdon County, it’s been a busy week at the county fair.
The fair is sponsored by the county's Agricultural Association and for over a hundred and forty years, it's been a showcase for county farmers and others, especially the younger generation who are involved in agriculture related events.

Man buys Coney Island water slide
CINCINNATI (WKRC) — When news broke that Coney Island in Cincinnati would close for good in December of 2023, many in the Tri-State were devastated, but Adam Woltermann decided to take action, in an effort to preserve at least part of the historic park.
"I don't know," said Woltermann. "I like to keep things interesting and it was a cool, fun, unique piece."
The Silver Bullet water slide, built in 1945, was set for demolition, along with the rest of Sunlite Pool - that is, until Woltermann stepped in.
State grants $2.5 million for Gables Building
ALTOONA, Pa. (WJAC) -- Developers plan to renovate the exterior of the Gables Building downtown, and now have state funding to complete the project.
Downtown Altoona has a handful of distinctive structures, including the former location of Gables Department Store. "The Gables Building is one of those anchor buildings, one of the those institutional buildings that so many people have memories about or in. Family members have worked there, and it's just a significant building and the idea of daylighting it is one that's very exciting and appeals to a lot of people,"

He tells the public that the IAFF is going to partner with law firms, in hopes of changing regulations regarding personal protective equipment. These include the removal of PFAS from equipment, that firefighters wear when exposed to their jobs dangers. Kelly states that compensation for personnel who have been injured because of these toxins, is also necessary.
