Man who pleaded guilty to fatally striking PSU jogger is no longer in the US
CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Federal authorities say the man who pleaded guilty to fatally striking a fellow Penn State student with his car is no longer in the United States after being granted what is termed "voluntary departure."
Ahmed Alqubaisi was charged last September after police say he reportedly lost control of his vehicle and struck 25-year-old Lovisa Arnesson-Cronhamre, who was jogging along Park Avenue, near Penn State’s campus.
Tennis Channel making Tuesdays 'Women's Day' on T2, will only show women's competitions
LOS ANGELES (TND) — Tennis Channel's "T2" network will dedicate Tuesdays to women's tennis starting in early June, a spokesperson told The National Desk today.
Beginning on June 11, T2 will spend every Tuesday exclusively broadcasting Women's Tennis Association matches. Tennis Channel says the decision keeps the network "ahead of the curve" in showcasing women's competition.

2 killed overnight, treating case as murder-suicide
RICHLAND TOWNSHIP – Two people died in an overnight shooting in Richland Township, according to police.
Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees said the case is being treated as a murder-suicide.
Cambria County dispatch officials said they received a call that two people had been shot in front of a townhomes in the Aspen Woods complex around midnight.
That complex was formerly known as Arbutus Village.
Lees said one person was pronounced dead at the scene and the other died after being taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.
Penguins 'part ways' with assistant coach Todd Reirden

"We are grateful to Todd for his dedication and commitment to the Penguins over two separate stints with the organization," said President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Kyle Dubas. "Mike Sullivan and I have spent time over the past two weeks evaluating the coaching staff, and although these decisions are never easy, we agree that this change was in the best interest of the team moving forward.
Woman defrauds Rockwood Borough Council of $36K
SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — State police are investigating after a woman in Somerset County deceived members of the Rockwood Borough Council into paying her approximately $36,000 without approval, according to a press release.
State police said the unidentified woman deceived members of the Rockwood Borough Council in January into paying her on numerous occasions for work which was not actually performed.
The press release states that the woman was paid without approval from the rest of the council and without their knowledge.

Mall to install cameras after criticism following shooting
PITTSBURGH (AP) — A western Pennsylvania mall says it will install surveillance cameras and take other measures to beef up security following criticism from officials after gunshots that prompted a lockdown and an evacuation of shoppers over the Memorial Day weekend.
The Allegheny County district attorney's office and Ross Township police had criticized Ross Park Mall officials following Saturday's gunfire, saying mall operators had refused requests to install cameras, although some individual stores have them.

Gunfight sparked by argument in Savannah injures 11 as city faces a violent weekend
SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — An argument between two women led to a gunfight that left 11 people hurt in a busy tourist area of Savannah, Georgia, late Saturday, one of five weekend shootings in the city, two of which were fatal, authorities said.
Two people were injured in separate shootings Friday. Two more shootings Saturday resulted in two deaths. Then came the gunfire just before midnight Saturday near Savannah's Ellis Square.
Police release new video of suspects in deadly Wilkinsburg shooting
WILKINSBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — Allegheny County and Wilkinsburg police have released surveillance video of two men they believe are connected to a shooting that left a man dead and a 5-year-old boy hurt.
They are asking for the public's help in identifying the men and their vehicle.
According to Allegheny County police, the shooting happened Feb. 3 sometime around 1 p.m. Police say a 23-year-old man was walking with the child near the intersection of Laketon Road and Winston Street when a white four-door sedan, possibly a Toyota, approached them.
