NEW YORK (AP) — Richard M. Sherman, one half of the prolific, award-winning pair of brothers who helped form millions of childhoods by penning the instantly memorable songs for "Mary Poppins," "The Jungle Book" and "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" — as well as the most-played tune on Earth, "It's a Small World (After All)" — has died. He was 95.

Penn Highlands hosts first ever 'wellness showcase'
CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Penn Highlands Community College hosted a "wellness showcase" on Tuesday at its Richland Township campus.
Organizers say the event was a way for local and regional organizations to showcase the types of services they provide, ranging from emotional and physical support to occupational support and much more.
"Wellness is a part of all of our lives. I often think about wellness as the wheel, and if you've ever had a flat tire on a bicycle, any part of it that's weaker is going to make your trip so much longer.
Gunman killed by US Marshal during pursuit near WVU
UPDATE:MORGANTOWN, W. Va. (WJAC) — Morgantown police say one person is dead following an exchange of gunfire between law enforcement and an armed gunman near the West Virginia University Campus Wednesday afternoon.
Police responded to the area of College Avenue and Falling Run just after 12 p.m. for reports of shots fired. Police. along with the U.S. Marshals Service, attempted to locate and arrest the gunman, who was a wanted fugitive.

Somerset Co. CYS hosts adoption fair on Saturday
SOMERSET, Pa (WJAC) — Promoting adoption by bringing families in Somerset out for a “family a-fair."
Somerset County Children and Youth Services hosted an event on Saturday, in partnership with the statewide Adoption and Permanency network at Somerset Church of the Brethren.
There were carnival-themed games and food for the kids and professionals for parents to speak with and learn more about foster care or adoption.
One professional hopes this event will help to educate the community about foster care and who is eligible to be a foster parent.
Judge removed by Maryland Supreme Court over alleged office misconduct
WASHINGTON (WJLA) — A Maryland judge has been removed from her position by the state's Supreme Court after being suspended since 2023.
Prince George's County Circuit Court Judge April Ademilyi's removal at the request of the Maryland Commission of Judicial Disabilities followed Monday's oral arguments on misconduct accusations during her time. It's the first time in Prince George's County history that a judge has been ordered removed, sources told WJLA's Brad Bell.

Protestors calling for violence against Jews should be on No-Fly List

Roger Marshall, R-Kan., and Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., introduced two measures that, if passed, would achieve a similar objective: to place on the No Fly List individuals who are encouraging violence against Jewish persons and supporting terrorist organizations.
They introduced a bill, the No Flights For Terrorists Act, and an amendment to U.S. Code to require the Federal Bureau of Investigation to put on the No Fly List anyone who calls for violence against Jewish people, pledges allegiance to U.
Pittsburgh couple found with 177 empty stamp bags, police say
BROOKVILLE, Pa. - A Pittsburgh couple are facing more than 200 drug charges after police were called to a Brookville home on Long Avenue Tuesday.
