Middletown High School football season canceled following new video evidence

In a letter from the Superintendent on August 24, 2022, they say a video shows more involvement from students in hazing than originally thought. The letter from the superintendent said the district has obtained video of a separate hazing incident within the football team. Dr. Chelton Hunter said the incident took place inside the heat acclimation room.

Teen firefighter charged for starting multiple brush fires in Huntingdon Co.

Huntingdon Co., PA (WJAC) — Officials with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources' Bureau of Forestry have filed charges against a Huntingdon County teenager after he was accused of setting a series of brush fires earlier this year. Authorities say Adam Ewing, 18, of Three Springs, is a member of the Three Springs Volunteer Fire Company. Investigators say Ewing is alleged to have started a series of fires in the county in February and March, including one that injured three volunteer firefighters.

Judge grants bail reduction for former Somerset 911 coordinator charged with sex abuse

Somerset Co., PA (WJAC) — Prosecutors in Somerset County say a former county 911 coordinator who is accused of sexually abusing multiple children has been released from jail after a judge granted a motion to reduce his bail. District Attorney Molly Metzgar says Bradley Lavan applied for the bail reduction earlier this year and during a status hearing on Thursday, the judge reduced his bail from $750,000 straight to $500,000 secured.

Adams Township Police say the suspects broke in just before 3 a.m. Tuesday morning and targeted four Games of Skill machines, as well as the payout machine. Video shows the suspects physically removing the payout machine. Police say the machine was later found in the woods nearby, emptied of all the cash.
