1 person trapped in tractor-trailer rollover on PA Turnpike

SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Officials say one person was trapped after a tractor-trailer overturned on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Somerset County. The crash happened on the ramp for Exit 110 westbound, officials say. The ramp was closed as crews worked to rescue the person trapped in the vehicle. Authorities have not confirmed any injuries. Bishop Carroll High school organizes a Veteran's Day Ceremony

In honor of Veteran’s Day, Bishop Carroll High School organized a Veterans Day Ceremony. The ceremony took place for the first time in conjunction with an Alumni Basketball Game. Organizers explain that the game included both a men’s and women’s division and really offered an opportunity for the public to see the school’s new gym. The event also featured a basket raffle from which a portion of the proceeds will go to the It’s All About The Warrior Foundation.

'Grinch' hands out onions, instead of tickets, to drivers speeding in school zone

MARATHON, Fla. (AP) — Several motorists who were speeding through an elementary school zone on the Florida Keys Overseas Highway received an odorous onion as a reminder to slow down from a county sheriff's deputy dressed as the Grinch. Col. Lou Caputo, a 37-year veteran of the Monroe County Sheriff's Officewho conjured up the concept more than 20 years ago, was back on the streets Tuesday. Drivers who travel about 5 mph or less above the school zone's speed limit can choose between traffic citations and an onion presented by the Grinch.

Roof Garden Tractor Buddies celebrate 20th anniversary

Over a hundred people gathered today to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Roof Garden Tractor Buddies. The Roof Garden Tractor Buddies are a group of square dancing tractors here in Somerset county. They started in 2003 and have since grown in popularity and membership. Bill Blough is a local farmer and founder of the group. He came up with the idea after reading a newspaper article about dancing tractors in Iowa and decided to create something similar here.

Bethlehem officials say Nike warehouse will bring 250 jobs

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) — Bethlehem officials say Nike Inc. plans to build a warehouse in the eastern Pennsylvania city that will bring around 250 jobs and perhaps more down the road. Former Cambria County employee files suit against county, claims retaliation

EBENSBURG, Pa. - A former employee of the Cambria County Coroner's Office has filed a lawsuit against the county and the coroner's office, claiming she was retaliated against for filing a sexual harassment complaint against Coroner Jeff Lees. Attorneys for Stacie Holsinger filed the suit in the U.S District Court of Western Pennsylvania Friday. According to the complaint, Holsinger was hired by former county Coroner Dennis Kwiatkowski on July 16, 2012, as the Executive Assistant to the Coroner.

Parents, employees 'frustrated' with Ridgway Area SD decision to cut bus route

ELK COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Parents and employees of a local bus company showed up Tuesday evening to the Ridgway Area School board meeting to air their frustrations over changes to bus routes in the district. Citing a budget shortfall of more than $600,000, the district says it decided to cut one bus route. They say no student is losing bus coverage but the dropping of one route has led them to make changes in other routes, which has led to a later arrival time to pick up some students when school was over.
