STONYCREEK TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WJAC) — State police in Somerset County are investigating a fatal accident that happened Saturday morning.
According to a release, 21-year-old Alex Fitchett died after falling off an all-terrain vehicle on Boone Road near Huckleberry Highway.
Police said while Fitchett was driving, he hit a large puddle and fell off the ATV. Officials said Fitchett died from his injuries after falling off the vehicle.
State police and the Somerset County coroner are investigating.

Transformer failure sparks late night blaze on Brunot Island in Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh (WPXI) — It was a frightening night for some residents of Pittsburgh Monday as flames could be seen for several miles as first responders battled a large fire on Brunot Island, which is a small piece of land in the Ohio River that houses a power plant.
Authorities say a specialized transformer had reportedly failed and caught fire.
Firefighters had to take a ferry to the island to extinguish the flames.
Coroner releases cause of death for man found near 'culvert' in Johnsonburg
UPDATE | ELK COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Elk County coroner Michelle Muccio-Krise has released the cause of death for a Saint Marys man who was found dead near a "culvert" Saturday evening in Johnsonburg Borough.
Officials say an autopsy determined that 43-year-old Benjamin Meyer died from "Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy complicated by chronic drug use."
Authorities say Meyer's body was found Saturday in an area along West Center Street, in Johnsonburg Borough.

'Fire rainbows' appear across PA skies; here's what causes them

The textbook name for a "fire rainbow" is circumhorizontal arc, the colors in the sky have nothing to do with fire.
This rare view happens when sunlight hits thin, wispy white clouds at just the right angle.

Despite a state supreme court ruling just a few months ago, the dispute is still alive in court.

Ex-CCCTC employee files whistleblower suit, saying he was fired for retaliation
CLEARFIELD - A former employee of the Clearfield County Career and Technology Center has filed a whistleblower lawsuit, claiming he was fired for retaliation.
According to the complaint, Franklin Walk had been working at CCCTC since October of 2004 as a computer systems administrator.
The complaint said sometime in 2016, executive director Elizabeth Frankhouser asked Walk to repair her computer.
Walk removed the hard drive and installed a new one, keeping the old parts in his office.
