Police investigating overnight vehicle break-ins in Ferndale Borough
CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Likely more than a dozen cars were broken into Wednesday night in Ferndale Borough, according to police.
The borough's police chief Adam Richards says they are still taking calls from people saying valuables, including money, wallets and phone chargers were reportedly taken out of the cars.
Police say they are also investigating one car theft at this time.
Officials say many of the cars were unlocked, as only about two were locked and broken into.

Husband and wife charged with kidnapping after Ferndale hostage situation
JOHNSTOWN, PA. (WJAC) — Three people are facing charges stemming from what police call a hostage situation in Ferndale last week, according to Cambria County District Attorney Kelly Callihan.
This all began when Ferndale and other local police departments surrounded a home on Summit Avenue Thursday morning after a woman inside called 911.
Callihan told 6 News last week that during the incident, a man and a woman, who were being held against their will, escaped the home from a second story window into police protection.

How local 'Sideline Cancer' team led to American basketball player's escape from Ukraine
