1 person sent to the hospital following a rollover crash in Richland Twp, officials say
JOHNSTOWN, Pa (WJAC) — A one vehicle accident near the intersection of Frankstown road and Brewer road in Richland township has sent one person to the hospital. According to Cambria County dispatch, the crash occurred just after 9:30 Saturday morning. The vehicle sheered a pole before rolling over and entrapping the lone occupant. The driver was transported to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center and there is no word on his/her condition or injuries.
Punxsutawney man sent 'graphic' sexual messages to 'teen' decoy
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities in Jefferson County say a Punxsutawney man is behind bars after he reportedly sent "graphic" sexual messages to whom he thought was a 15-year-old girl.
Police say in March, 54-year-old Scott Clark Sr. reportedly began communicating with members of the online group 814 Pred Hunters, who were posing as the teen.
Investigators say on Tuesday, Clark reportedly attempted to meet the "teen" for sex.
Russia launched counter space weapons into orbit, threatening US satellite: Pentagon
WASHINGTON (TND) — Russia is taking tensions with the United States into lower earth orbit.

Steelers Hall of Fame running back Franco Harris dies at 72
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Franco Harris, the Hall of Fame running back whose heads-up thinking authored “The Immaculate Reception,” considered the most iconic play in NFL history, has died. He was 72.
Harris' son Dok told The Associated Press his father passed away overnight. No cause of death was given. His death comes two days before the 50th anniversary of the play that provided the jolt that helped transform the Steelers from also-rans into the NFL's elite and three days before Pittsburgh is scheduled to retire his No.
Man reels in 120-pound paddlefish in Tennessee, sets new record
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A man in East Tennessee has set a new record after catching a massive paddlefish last week. Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) reports the 120-pound paddlefish was caught by Chad Collins on Cherokee Lake. The fish measured approximately 75.5 inches long and 41.5 inches in girth. Paddlefish in the Cherokee Reservoir are sought after for their meat as well as for the caviar they carry, but anglers also regard them for their incredible sporting opportunity to catch a 100-pound fish in freshwater, TWRA says.
Local doctor urges residents to keep up with health, as COVID pushes routines aside
CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — It was this month last year when health concerns started revolving around COVID-19.
That means, in many cases, those routine appointments, screenings, and surgeries took a back seat.
Dr. Travis Rearick, a family physician with East Hills Primary Care, said as more appointments are delayed and cancelled, more problems could go undetected.
"Some cancers don't quite wait for COVID to be over," he said.
"I remember calling every single person -- and having our staff call every single person -- on the schedule to see if we could postpone their visit one month or two months.
St. Marys police arrest the Grinch for trying to steal Christmas
ST MARYS, Pa. (WJAC) — The St. Marys Police Department say officers arrested a suspicious green man who was planning to steal Christmas.
According to the department’s Facebook page, officers responded Christmas Eve morning after callers reported the man wandering around town with a poor attitude.
Police say they approached the man whom they identified as the Grinch.
According to reports, Grinch exclaimed to the officers, ”And they’ll feast, feast, feast, feast.
Daily marijuana use outpaces daily drinking in the US, a new study says
For the first time, the number of Americans who use marijuana just about every day has surpassed the number who drink that often, a shift some 40 years in the making as recreational pot use became more mainstream and legal in nearly half of U.S. states.
In 2022, an estimated 17.7 million people reported using marijuana daily or near-daily compared to 14.7 million daily or near-daily drinkers, according an analysis of national survey data.

Child falls from roller coaster at Idlewild Park
LIGONIER - A Westmoreland County emergency dispatcher said a boy fell from a wooden roller coaster at Idlewild amusement park Thursday afternoon.
Park spokesman Jeff Croushore told the Associated Press he doesn't know the boy's condition or where he was on the ride when he fell. Croushore said he couldn't say whether the ride malfunctioned or if horseplay was involved.
The Rollo Coaster opened in 1938 and takes riders up, down and around a wooded hillside.
