WASHINGTON — A rare evening meeting of the House Oversight Committee on Thursday devolved into chaos after northwest Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene mocked the appearance of one of her Democratic colleagues.
Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Kentucky) struggled to regain order after Rep. Greene made a comment about Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas)'s 'fake eyelashes.' Rep. Greene later took a swipe at Rep. Married LGBTQ leaders were taking car for repairs before arrest in PA traffic stop
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The married LGBTQ leaders arrested during a contentious traffic stop in Philadelphia were driving separately to take a car for repairs when a trooper pulled one of them over, their lawyer said Tuesday.
Celena Morrison, who leads the city's Office of LGBT Affairs and is a top aide to Mayor Cherelle Parker, and her husband were detained Saturday for about 12 hours following the 9 a.m. highway stop.
Johnstown Galleria owner opposes potential storage facility in former Sears building
A potential new storage facility might be coming into the old Sears building in the Johnstown Galleria.
The Johnstown Galleria owner, Leo Karruli, posted on Facebook last week that the former Sears location was sold at an auction – and the company that won the bid wants to open a storage facility. Although it’s connected to the Galleria, the former Sears building is owned separately. On Monday, the Richland Township board of supervisors held a regularly scheduled meeting and Karruli and some supporters attended in order to voice their concerns.
NTSB releases preliminary report on fatal plane crash that killed Johnstown businessman
Authorities with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have released a preliminary report regarding last month's fatal plane crash that claimed the life of a Johnstown businessman.
Investigators say on the evening of Dec. 29, John Burley departed from Erie International Airport/Tom Ridge Field en route for the John Murtha Johnstown/Cambria County Airport.
Officials say at the time of the crash, the plane was traveling at an eastern then southeastern direction.
Camp Cadet helps teach kids about law enforcement, self discipline
SCHELLSBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — Kids in Bedford County got a first hand look at what it's like to work in law enforcement.
This week, state and local law enforcement agencies held Camp Cadet at Camp Living Waters in Schellsburg.
This is the 29th year the camp has been held in Bedford County. Organizers say the free camp is designed for kids between the ages of 12 to 15 and is not a program for troubled youth.
Altoona PD seeking new leads into year-old, 'violent' home invasion
BLAIR COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Altoona police are asking the public's help in solving a year-old, "violent" home invasion.
Police say on the night of May 27, 2023, multiple suspects reportedly broke into a home along the 800 block of 18th Ave. and "physically restrained" a 70-year-old female resident.
Authorities say the suspects then "violently" assaulted the victim by punching her in the head and face and then striking her with CO2 powered handgun.

Dozens of residents displaced after sinkhole appears in State College residential area
State College, PA (WJAC) — Dozens of residents have been displaced, and their townhomes abandoned, since Christmas weekend after a sinkhole opened up in their neighborhood.
The large sinkhole appeared in the parking lot of the Park Forest residential area in Patton Township sometime over the weekend.
Residents living along Amblewood Way were forced to leave their homes during the holiday after a reported water line break caused the ground to open up.
Blair County officials prohibit feeding ducks at area park
TYRONE, Pa.-- A Blair County borough is taking after action ducks are taking over a local park that could potentially be dangers to people's health.Tyrone Borough Council members voted Monday to prohibit feeding the ducks at Reservoir Park. There are nearly two hundred ducks that call the park home and use it as their bathroom, which poses some health hazards to humans.

The State College YMCA is hosting boxing classes this month led by two-time collegiate boxing champion and All-American Musa Alsulaimani.
A Penn State graduate and current MMA competitor, Alsulaimani says the sport of boxing is not only physical but mental and you have to learn discipline in order to be successful.
