According to state police in Centre County, one person was injured in Tuesday's crash along Route 322 near Boalsburg.

Troopers say the crash occurred just before 3:30 p.m. when the driver of a passenger vehicle crossed the center line and struck a gasoline tanker truck.

Investigators say the driver of the passenger vehicle suffered minor injuries and was transported to UPMC Altoona.

State police add that the driver will be cited for traffic violations.

The driver of the tanker truck was not injured and the crash resulted in Route 322 being closed for several hours.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation says Route 322 east of Boalsburg will be closed for hours Tuesday as crews work to clear the wreckage of a gasoline tanker that crashed.

According to PennDOT, the crash has closed the eastbound and westbound lanes of Route 322 east of Boalsburg between Red Mill Road and Route 45.

PennDOT officials say they expect the roadway to be completely closed until 8 p.m.

Drivers will need to follow the orange detour, which makes use of Route 45 and Route 144.

Officials stress that drivers remain alert for stopped or slow traffic as well as emergency responders who may be in the roadway.

Alpha Fire Company officials say the driver of the truck was uninjured.

Centre Region Hazmat has been called to assist with cleanup.
