Whisper Rocks and Lincoln Caverns

HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — In this segment of Road Trippin’, we go to Lincoln Caverns.

In 1930, while construction for Route 22 was underway, the caverns were discovered.

In 1938, a second cave named Whisper Rocks was discovered above the original cave.

Lincoln Caverns has been a tourist destination for the past 90 years.

The Dunlavy family has owned the land for 88 of those years.

Their goal is to not only entertain visitors but also educate them on the importance of preserving the still growing caves.
