HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. (WJAC) -- The Everett Railroad is giving passengers a chance to punch their ticket to the past, offering rides on one of their steam locomotives this weekend.

On Saturday, passengers will climb aboard a restored 1920s steam engine at the Hollidaysburg Depot Station and embark on a three-hour journey.

The American Locomotive Company model 260 No. 11 will carry 240 passengers in five cars as part of Steam into the Cove.

A railroad representative said the trip takes riders from Hollidaysburg to Martinsburg and back.

They said the rare mileage route is only offered twice per year, once in the spring and once in the fall.

On Sunday, the Everett Railroad will be looking to satisfy the public's sweet tooth with their ice cream train ride.

Railroad officials said passengers ride to the Roaring Spring Historical Society and are served a scoop of Ritchey’s Dairy ice cream.

The railroad's marketing executive says people come from all over to ride No. 11.

"It's quite special, especially because the No. 11 steam engine came from New York and it's a very old train,” Cheyenne Delozier said. “A lot of people from New York when they were younger, they had seen it up there so they travel all the way down here to relive that experience and they get to actually ride on it."

Tickets for Steam into the Cove have sold out but there are still open seats for the ice cream train.

Tickets are $19 for adults, $15 for children and can be purchased over the phone at (814) 696-3877 or on the Everett Railroad website.
