Penn Highlands Community College hosted a "wellness showcase" on Tuesday at its Richland Township campus.

Organizers say the event was a way for local and regional organizations to showcase the types of services they provide, ranging from emotional and physical support to occupational support and much more.

"Wellness is a part of all of our lives. I often think about wellness as the wheel, and if you've ever had a flat tire on a bicycle, any part of it that's weaker is going to make your trip so much longer. So, whenever you enhance each area of wellness, it enhances a more positive, well-balanced life."

Organizations attending Tuesday’s event included the United Way, Victims Services and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.

This is the first time this event was held, and organizers say they hope to hold more in the future.
