OSHKOSH, Wis. (WLUK) — Authorities are investigating a mid-air collision involving two aircrafts at the EAA AirVenture show in Wisconsin on Saturday.
Officials have not said if anyone was injured in the crash.
Dick Knapinski, director of communications for EAA, said it happened at 12:24 p.m. at the south end of the EAA AirVenture flight line at Wittman Regional Airport. The crash shut down aircraft operations at the airport for about two hours, but the afternoon air show was underway a little after 2:30 p.m.
NTSB reports the collision was between a Rotorway 162F aircraft, which is a type of helicopter, and an ELA Eclipse 10 aircraft.
EAA, Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department and the Oshkosh Fire Department personnel responded immediately to the scene, according to Knapinski.
Knapinski said information is still being gathered and further updates will be available as they are confirmed.
