EBENSBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — A Cambria County jury found a Johnstown man guilty of first-degree murder and aggravated assault Friday in the brutal slaying of a woman and dumping of her body in an alley trash area.
Police had charged 56-year-old Larry Fason in the November 2017 death of 32-year-old Angela Lunn after her body was found in an alley near the intersection of Bell Alley and Messenger Street in the Hornerstown section of the city.
Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees called the death one of the most violent he has seen.
The trial began Tuesday with jurors being taken to the location where Lunn’s body was found.
Surveillance video taken of the scene was shown, with prosecutors saying it showed a person believed to be Fason, carrying what they believed was the body of Lunn. The person being carried was wearing a black jacket like the one Lunn was wearing when her body was found.
Fason testified in his own defense Thursday, saying Lunn caused her own injuries and when he last saw her, she was alive.
Fason claimed she fell down the steps twice and he dragged her to the area where he last saw her in the trash area while she was still alive.
