A Cambria County man charged in the "violent" slaying of a missing Altoona man last spring appeared in court Monday morning.

Austin Kline was charged with homicide and abuse of a corpse in the death of Richard Morgan.

Investigators say Morgan was found "shot and bludgeoned" at Kline’s home in South Fork in May of last year.

Police say Kline reportedly hired Morgan to help him with some work and later confessed to killing him.

Kline’s next court date is scheduled for May 10th, and a trial date has not yet been set.
