JOHNSTOWN -- The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown's Sports Center is getting a new home court.
A wooden floor will be installed over the existing composite floor with the project starting Sept. 25.
“The Pitt-Johnstown Athletic Department, and especially our coaches and athletes, are extremely excited about the installation of the new wooden Sports Center floor,” said Pitt-Johnstown Athletics Director and Wrestling Coach Pat Pecora in a release.
“Facilities are some of the most tangible comparisons a prospective student-athlete can make when choosing a school. Not only will this benefit our current student-athletes, but it will also have a large impact on future student-athletes."
The work is expected to be completed by October 14 and a preview will be available during Homecoming Weekend on Sept. 29.
The Sports Center is the home court for Mountain Cats men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, and wrestling.
