Clearfield Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities say a Curwensville man has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman inside a Clearfield County apartment in 2022.
Following a two-day trial, officials say Douglas Albert was convicted Thursday on most of the charges he faced, which included rape of an unconscious victim, sexual assault and aggravated indecent assault.
Police charged Albert last July after he was accused of assaulting the woman while she was staying at a friend's apartment.
Investigators say Albert was identified as the assailant through DNA testing.
Prosecutors noted that the jury did return not guilty verdicts on two of the charges against Albert, rape by forcible compulsion and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse by forcible compulsion.
A sentencing date has not yet been determined as authorities say Albert must complete a "Sexually Violent Predator" assessment.
Prosecutors noted that they are seeking a sentence of 20 to 40 years.
