HARRISBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — The state's labor and industry secretary says more than $28 billion have been paid in benefits since March 15.
Jerry Oleksiak says 92 percent of people who were eligible and filed for benefits between March 15 and June 20 received their payments as of Monday.
The extra $600 from the Federal Pandemic Compensation Program ends this week.
"Our federal government funds this program and they're ending the payments," Oleksiak explained. "The week ending July 25th, 2020 will be the last $600 payment claimants will receive. If anyone is still waiting on payments for any claims made from April 4 through July 25, you will be made whole and you will receive those benefits."
Oleksiak says there's other resources available through the Department of Health for those who need more assistance.
