Police in Saint Marys say an Elk County man is facing new charges after federal investigators uncovered online chats detailing the sexual abuse of a toddler, according to a criminal complaint.

Evan Gabor, 26, was charged in December after an investigation revealed that he was in possession of child pornography and had performed sexual acts with a dog.

Now, police say Gabor faces new charges of sexual abuse, indecent exposure and indecent assault following an investigation by an undercover police officer in Wisconsin.

Authorities say the officer, who was working undercover with the FBI, discovered an online chatroom, on the messenger service "Kik," where an individual, later identified as Gabor, admitted to sexually abusing a 23-month-old child.

Police say Gabor also posted numerous photos and videos of said acts in the online message board.

On Dec. 28, 2021, police interviewed Gabor about these accusations, at which time he reportedly admitted to having a "kink" towards children, according to the arrest affidavit.

Police say Gabor elaborated on the statement by saying that, "you almost have to experience it to know you don't like it."

Investigators say Gabor told police that he only abused the toddler on one occasion, and he also admitted to discussing said abuse online.

Police say he also admitted to filming the abuse and posting it to the chat service.

Gabor, who waived his previous charges for court, is being held at the Elk County Prison on $250,000 bail, court dockets show.

His next court date is scheduled for April 5.
