PennDOT says the Allegheny Tunnel has since reopened following an earlier crash along the Turnpike involving a tractor-trailer.
Authorities have not yet released details about what led to the crash or if there were any injuries.

Emergency crews are on scene of a crash along the Pennsylvania Turnpike, near the Allegheny Tunnel.
According to PennDOT's 511 alert page, the westbound tunnel traffic is stopped to allow the emergency crews to "safely respond" to the crash.
Authorities have not yet confirmed how many vehicles are involved or if there are any injuries.
